The DeLorean was perhaps most famous for its role in the Back to the Future movie trilogy. The comedy movies follow the adventures of teenager Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) as he is blasted into the past and future in a time machine built by Emmett “Doc” Brown (Christopher Lloyd) from a DeLorean. Back to the Future was released in 1985, followed by Part II in 1989, and Part III in 1990. The time machine was a modified 1981 DeLorean DMC-12.
