Oxford Diecast Aviation Series Model
Focke-Wulf Ta 152H-1 - Oberfeldwebel Josef Keil, Stab./ JG 301, Luftwaffe, Germany, April 1945
1:72 Scale. Length: 5.6”. Wingspan: 8”
Luftwaffe pilot Oberfeldwebel Josef Keil of Stab./JG-30I flew both the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 and Ta 152. He was the first, and only, pilot to gain five victories flying the Ta 152. Keil claimed his last victories on April 21, 1945 when he shot down two Russian Yak-9 fighters over Berlin. He ended the war credited with 16 aerial victories, which included five four-engine bombers.
The Focke-Wulf Ta 152 was a World War II German high-altitude fighter-interceptor operated by the Luftwaffe. It was a development of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. The prefix Ta was a tribute to the head of the design team, Frank Tank. The Ta 152H entered service with the Luftwaffe in January 1945, but less than 50 aircraft were delivered before the war in Europe ended in May. These few Ta 152s failed to make any significant impact on the air war.
