Chicago Surface Lines (CSL) was operator of the street railway system of Chicago, Illinois.
The C-44 was a transit bus built by ACF Brill Company. In 1926 the American Car and Foundry Company (ACF) acquired a controlling interest in the J.G Brill Co. and then merged with them in 1944 creating the ACF Brill Motors Company. ACF Brill manufactured buses until 1954.
