McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle AF 90-0233 c/n 1163/E135 was the first F-15E powered by the new P&W F-100-PW-229 engines.
The USAF 391st FS took part in World War II and Vietnam. They were deactivated in 1990 and reactivated in 1992, equipped with the F-15E Strike Eagle. They flew during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2006 the 391st FS was the first squadron to operate the F-15 from Bagram AB, Afghanistan. The 391st calls Mountain Home AFB, Idaho home and is the largest fighter squadron in the USAF with 24 F-15 Strike Eagle aircraft.
