The Fast and the Furious, released in 2001, was the first in a series of action films centered on illegal street racing and follows the lives of a group of like-minded gear heads on the wrong side of the law. The movie starred Paul Walker as Los Angeles police officer Brian O'Connor and Vin Diesel as Dominic (Dom) Toretto, the leader of a street gang that is under suspicion of stealing expensive electronic equipment. One of the high-performance cars used in the film was a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T with a 528ci supercharged Hemi, which was driven by Dominic.
