Starsky & Hutch is a television series that aired on the ABC network from April 15, 1975 to May 30 1979. A total of 93 episodes were produced. The series starred Paul Michael Glaser as David Starsky and David Soul as Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson, two police detectives who investigated crimes in fictional “Bay City,” California (much of the series was filmed in the Los Angeles beach community of San Pedro). The vehicle they used was Starsky's bright red Ford Gran Torino with a large white vector stripe. The series began filming with two 1975 Gran Torino’s and updated to the 1976 model for its second through fourth seasons.
