James Bond appeared with an Aston Martin DB5 for the first time in the 1964 film Goldfinger, the third film in the series. Bond’s DB5 included machine guns concealed behind the turning lights, a bullet shield behind the rear window, a passenger ejector seat, tire slashers that extend from the center of the wheels, smoke screen and other modifications. In the 1965 film Thunderball, Bond escapes from his pursuers at the French chateau of Colonel Jacques Bouvar with the help of the DB5’s rear water cannon and bullet shield.
