One of the oldest units in the USAF, the 90th Fighter Squadron was first organized on August 20, 1917. During World War I they deployed to France, fighting on the Western Front. After 16 name changes, they became the “Dicemen,” with their squadron emblem being a lucky 7 “Pair O’ Dice.” Introduced as part of the 90th FS in 1990 to replace their F-15E Strike Eagles, the F-22 became known for its air superiority, ground attack, intelligence, and electronic warfare roles.
The Lockheed Martin/ Boeing F-22 Raptor is a single seat, twin-engine fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology. It was designed as an air superiority fighter, but has additional capabilities which include ground attack, electronic warfare and signals intelligence roles. It is constructed using 39% titanium, 24% composite material, 16% aluminum, and 1% thermoplastic by weight. All of these components contribute to the Raptor being a lightweight, extremely maneuverable extremely fast aircraft.
